MGEX (Master Grade Extreme) is Bandai's premium tier above regular Master Grade: 1/100 scale kits with extra-detailed frames, special finishes and features such as built-in LED lighting.
Because the line is so small, this page lists every MGEX release, including the Gundam Base and Premium Bandai versions.
Release dates are for Japan; US stock usually follows a few weeks later. Upcoming kits are also on the release tracker.
MGEX launched in September 2020 with the Unicorn Gundam Ver.Ka, released for Master Grade's 25th anniversary. It came with LED units to light up the psycho-frame.
The Strike Freedom Gundam followed in November 2022 with a gold-plated frame. After a four-year gap, Bandai announced the Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam from SEED FREEDOM for March 2027.
The first new MGEX in four years, ¥26,400 in Japan.
